Obama is having the Dukakis problem of failing in “race chasm” states (states with neither large nor small black populations). He needs to do more to fix this.

Penn was ousted because the Democratic party is tied to protectionist Unions. This is a senseless policy.

Mark Penn failed in more respects than one. He presided over a disorganized, antiquated, arrogant, non-grassroots campaign.

Presidents often govern like they campaign, and Obama has campaigned brilliantly. He could be hindered by self righteousness if he wins, though.
4/8 Wrap: I, like Will, am an anti protectionist. I feel that he’s overstating the problem of American protectionism, but it is a concern of mine. My hope is that the Dems will advocate more welfare state policies to offset job displacement.
