Obama has not stated his position on a restrictive 1976 Washington DC personal gun ownership ban. He used to be an anti gun radical.

4/7 Wrap:  These Obama attacks are boring me. Equivocation on a 1976 city ordinance? Holy moly, this could kill the Democrats in the 1976 elections!

McCain’s do-nothing housing crisis policy is responsible in its laissez fairness. The only fly in the ointment is his rhetoric (he tends to frame debates as honorable vs. dishonorable).

  • 4/6 Wrap: Yes, the free market will correct itself. The only sound course of action for an economy that operates according to federal rules and restrictions is to lessen the impact of rules and restrictions. If a lack of regulation renders your economy not solvent, it is best to worry even less. Responsible action will be the death of us all. If I sound sarcastic, it is probably due to my inherent dishonor.

The Bosnia flap is a reminder of how the Clintons are staggeringly mendacious.  She’s suffering from the fallout, but the media seems to be ‘in the tank’ for Obama.  The media isn’t subjecting him to the correct level of coverage on the Wright and Rezko scandals.

  • 4/4 Wrap: I almost didn’t have the heart to write a mini recap for this one.  The process is wearing on me. How many trivial ‘controversies’ are pundits going to obsess over from now until November?  Right now, we’re on the cusp of possibly the worst economic downturn in 70 years.  But instead of focusing on this er, problem, and perhaps condemning the policies that led it (deregulation, namely), supposedly serious minded political reporters speak of this shit. Policies, anyone?  You know, the stuff that actually impacts the lives of people? Krauthammer twice refers to Wright’s ‘racist’ comments.  Hmm, I didn’t exactly find the comments ‘racist’ in the traditional sense.  A little conspiratorial, but not racist. I think we can safely say that CK is bending over backwards to feign moral outrage here. Oh, and memo to pundits: There is no Rezko scandal.

Hillary’s odds are slim. Still, she should soldier on as long as she ceases the personal attacks on Obama.

Though he doesn’t like to talk about it, Obama’s position on abortion has been radically pro-choice. He would do well to change that.

The Reagan loving McCain has chosen the wrong time in history to be a deregulation proponent. He will do little to help our current economic woes.

  • 4/2 Wrap: Kudos to Ruth Marcus for photocopying yesterday’s Dionne Jr column. Must be tough work being a WaPo pundit…

Last week’s events in Iraq show that the surge has failed.  So why is John McCain getting a free pass for wanting to continue George Bush’s awful, unending foreign policy.

James Carville attacked me for endorsing Obama.  He thought the act disloyal to the Clintons.  His style of politics is similar to the style that has come to characterize Hillary’s campaign, and this is why I support Barack.

Hillary Clinton has every right to keep fighting, but she should cease damaging the “Clinton brand.”

  • 4/1 Wrap: Way to go, Eugene! A pundit finally admits that a) the surge has failed and b) John McCain should be pilloried for his unthinking support of the mission. This Op-Ed was brave in multiple ways. My favorite part was Robinson’s rebuttal of Krauthammer’s “Johnny didn’t really mean a 100 years war” defense: “Those who claim that by “a hundred years” McCain was talking about a long-term peacetime deployment like theU.S. military presence in South Korea are being disingenuous or obtuse. In and around Seoul, citizens aren’t shooting at American soldiers or trying to blow them up with roadside bombs — and U.S. combat forces aren’t taking sides in bloody internecine battles over power and wealth.”
